TNA President on WWE NXT Partnership: Impact's TV Deal & Future Plans (2025)

A bold reality check: the WWE-TNA partnership could be the pivot that finally unlocks a major TV deal for Impact. That collaboration, now entering its first full year, is sparking a broader discussion about how TNA’s fate intertwines with WWE and the wider wrestling landscape.

TNA announced on December 2 that its weekly Impact program will relocate to AMC and AMC+ starting next month. This shift has fans and observers reexamining what role WWE’s alliance with TNA played in steering talks for a fresh media rights agreement that has been on the table for months. Historically, Impact has aired on AXS, a smaller cable channel owned by Anthem, TNA’s parent company. The prevailing view is that WWE’s strategic partnership with TNA was intended, at least in part, to complicate AEW’s position and to help upgrade TNA’s television footprint. On Busted Open Radio this morning, TNA President Carlos Silva confirmed that the WWE-TNA alliance was indeed a significant selling point in securing the AMC deal.

“Undoubtedly, it was a major factor in helping us land this deal. It also enables us to give back to the roster by offering a high-profile platform for several of our stars. The collaborations and storylines will continue to evolve into 2026. The past five to six months have been incredibly rewarding, and there’s more on the horizon. 2026 is poised to be even bigger,” Silva stated.

A key question remains: will TNA/Impact move to a Wednesday slot to directly challenge AEW Dynamite, or will the new reality of multiple promotions sharing time erode the emphasis on head-to-head weekly battles? WWE’s broader strategy may increasingly involve distributing wrestling content across several properties—including Impact, AAA, and other ID-affiliated independent outfits—to captivate wrestling audiences across different platforms.

Watching this 21st-century wrestling dynamic unfold will be fascinating. What are your thoughts on the WWE-TNA alliance and its potential impact on the industry? Do you agree that it’s a strategic lever for broader TV deals, or do you see other forces at work shaping the next era of wrestling partnerships? Share your opinions in the comments.
