CES 2026 Innovation Award: Amorepacific's Skinsight™ - The Future of Skincare (2025)

Imagine a future where your skincare routine is as personalized as your DNA. That future is closer than you think, thanks to Amorepacific's groundbreaking Skinsight™ technology, recently honored with a CES 2026 Innovation Award! This marks the company's seventh consecutive year of recognition at the prestigious event, solidifying their position at the forefront of beauty tech.

Developed in collaboration with the brilliant minds at MIT, Skinsight™ isn't just another gadget; it's a next-generation 'electronic skin' platform. It analyzes the factors that contribute to skin aging in real-time, offering personalized skincare solutions tailored to your unique needs.

But how does it work? Skinsight™ utilizes an ultra-thin, wearable sensor patch. This patch, equipped with a highly sensitive strain sensor, adheres to your skin and meticulously detects even the smallest changes in key aging-related factors. We're talking about things like skin tightness, exposure to UV and blue light, temperature, and moisture levels.

This data is then transmitted via a compact Bluetooth module to an AI-powered mobile application. The app integrates this information with your daily lifestyle patterns, creating a comprehensive model of your skin's exposure over a 24-hour cycle.

Based on this constant stream of information, the system identifies factors that accelerate skin aging, predicts where and how wrinkles or loss of elasticity might appear, and then provides personalized skincare recommendations. It's like having a dermatologist on your wrist, constantly monitoring and adapting to your skin's needs.

And this is the part most people miss... To achieve such accuracy, Skinsight™ incorporates cutting-edge technology. It uses MIT Professor Jeehwan Kim's 'remote epitaxy' fabrication method and a 'piezotronic sensor' architecture, which offers electron-level sensitivity. The patch is designed for comfort and practicality, with excellent breathability allowing it to stay securely attached even during perspiration. It also conforms closely to the skin's natural contours, ensuring stable, long-term use. This allows for reliable tracking of skin changes in various daily environments, collecting highly individualized data.

Amorepacific has backed up Skinsight™ with rigorous scientific research, publishing findings in prestigious international journals like Science and Science Advances. They've also filed four related patents through PCT international applications and secured registrations in multiple countries, including South Korea and the United States.

But here's where it gets controversial... Skinsight™ was also used to test the efficacy of Sulwhasoo's First Care Activating Serum, a signature product of Amorepacific's luxury brand. The technology helped substantiate the serum's ability to improve skin tightness.

"Skinsight™ represents a breakthrough platform that moves beyond simply observing the skin to predicting and managing its changes through scientific precision. It embodies Amorepacific's vision of 'Ageless Beauty,' beauty that is no longer bound by time," said Byung-Fhy Brian Suh, CTO and Head of Amorepacific R&I Center. "Through advanced scientific technologies, we aim to predict the causes of skin aging and continuously expand individual beauty—ultimately opening up a new era of Longevity as defined by Amorepacific, where the skin's natural vitality endures."
